MY AFRICANA WOMAN (HAPPY WOMEN'S DAY)

Love your color, Love your heritage

for out of you is valor birthed and the strength of generations undiscovered, discovered...

African women are women who were born in, who are born of parent(s), who live in, and are from the continent of Africa. The culture evolution and history of African women is related to the evolution and history of the African continent itself.

In describing an African woman most people believe that she must be a deeply dark skinned, full figured voluptuous woman, hardworking and full of respect both for the old and the young.

But the Africana woman is not one who is merely described by her outward appearance, she is worth more than a skin tone or a hair texture or even the outfit she wears. She is worth more than the cowries on her neck and the “jigida” beads, on her waist.

She is a woman of great strength, profound wisdom and “Humble Pride” a humble pride because humility is her nature and pride because she hails from the great continent of Africa. .

Women have fought to achieve equal rights in many parts of Africa and the world, even though it is still traditionally believed that the African woman’s role is to look after the homestead while men find jobs outside the home.

African women in these present days have evolved into strong independent individuals as they can now be actively selected for top positions although in some countries in Africa women are still considered unfit for top positions or political exercises despite their achievements.

Women in Africa have proven their worth and strength in various capacities and have indeed delivered above expectations, some of these exceptional women include Ladi Kwali who is well known for her distinctive work of pottery, Elisabeth Domitien of Central African Republic who is the first Female Prime Minister in Africa, Ellen Johnson the First Female to become a president of a modern African nation, Ngozi Iwela the First female African president of World bank, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie a multi award winner in literature to name a few.

Everyone has their shortcomings, so it is not out of place to see a woman fall short of certain expectations. Although her shortcomings does not deny her of her strengths, she is not a perfect being and neither can she be underrated.

To my Africana woman; you have come a long way to be bullied for your skin tone, you have come a long way to be mocked for your hair texture, you have come a long way to be shammed for your thick thighs and succulent boobs.

So;

When next you are called an Africana, wear the title like a queen seated on a powerful throne, in a great kingdom called Africa.

Embrace your color, because a shade darker or a shade lighter cannot describe the depth and totality of who you truly are. You are beautiful in the skin you have, and in the thickness of your flesh.

To every woman; irrespective of color and race you are a special specie of the human race, inarguably strong, mentally brave, psychologically gallant and spiritually sacred. Crafted, molded and created by God to fulfill a unique purpose on earth.

To every man; every woman is a rare gem, treat us with love and watch us double your happiness.

HAPPY WOMEN'S DAY

See you soon

XoXo...
